Why are you exccited to join the Beaverton Chamber team? I’m excited to get more involved in my community and meet local business owners. Running my own small business, Portland Pyrography – https://portlandpyrography.com/, I have a passion for small business and want to support them. 

How long have you lived in Beaverton? I’ve lived in Beaverton for 20+ years and am a native Oregonian.

What is your favorite hobby? My hobby is my business….pyrography

Other hobbies: I love international travel (8 countries and counting) and am also passionate about health and fitness

What’s on your bucket list? Traveling to Florence, Italy

How long have you been a Chamber Ambassador? 2 Months

What do you like best about being an Ambassador? Being a part of a collaborative team that works together to grow local community business and has a lot of fun doing it!

What is an important change that has occurred in your industry in the past year? There are now more hidden fees associated with getting goods delivered to the work places and there are higher and higher level of organizations not being transparent when it comes to the service and price.

What is your favorite product or service that your company provides and why? I love that we have been able to move into the safety supply, janitorial and sanitation categories. It really allows us to service our customers in a more wholistic way and help reduce some of their stress when it comes to procurement.

If you could own/operate another local business, What would it be? I would love to be a clinic manager, my back ground is in healthcare and helping folks with their health needs has also been a strong calling to me.

What or who is your “go-to” person or place for business and professional advice? Currently it would be my bosses Paul and John Savory. They have been extremely influential in helping me grow in this new role.

What’s your favorite sport team or movie? Favorite team is the Pittsburg Steelers and my Movie would be Arrival

What is your favorite hobby or what do you do for fun? I ski raced for a very long time but still love to do it recreationally

What’s something on your bucket list? To be able to ski in South America, Asia and Europe

OAME Expands Programs & Services in Beaverton

We are building big things in Beaverton for 2018 and are thrilled to bring Portland centric resources to Beaverton. No longer will you be stuck in traffic to work with the #1 micro lender in Oregon. Cha-ching. Save yourself the trip get to OAME’s North Portland Incubator in Delta Park. Westside entrepreneurs and small business owners now have access to OAME business advising and technical assistance at the Beaverton Chamber. If you need help to start and grow your business be sure to schedule an appointment. These services are free and open to the public.

If that’s not fun enough, starting on March 8, the Beaverton Chamber plays host to a series of five Coffee & Issues, an ever-popular and well attended networking event. More than glad-handling over coffee and treats, we have a real discussion and focus on relevant issues. This month, Mayor Denny Doyle will share his take on Beaverton’s building boom and how Beaverton supports small business, innovation and entrepreneurship. Be seen and collect the green. This event series is free and open to the public.
