Now this is the reward!

March 12th, 2012

Lovely email testimonial received March 8th from Office Manager Rosalea Peters of Dr. Michelle Stafford’s World of Smiles Dentistry.

Good morning Lorraine,

I wanted to email you personally and let you know that as of next week I will be transitioning from World of Smiles. I am unsure whether I will land in a Beaverton business at this point, but you can be sure that if I do, I will be as active as I can within the Chamber and events. I have been so impressed and personally inspired by the events I have been able to attend; most notably the #DRIVEN Breakfast with the Boss series and have met some fabulous people through the Coffee Connections. I was inspired by sitting next to Dick Schouten at the last luncheon and am already getting involved with the Washington Commission on Children and Families, and I have developed a great business relationship with Dave Chin of ActionCoach and he

Chamber Testifies in Support of DDA for the Round

March 6th, 2012

Let’s get the Round moving!

Last evening I testified on behalf of the board & membership. Mistakes were made in the past and we applaud the Mayor & current Council and staff for taking advantage of current market conditions to really make a significant positive change! Here’s my testimony.

Good evening Mayor Doyle and City Councilors.

For the record, my name is Lorraine Clarno, President and CEO of the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce. I am here tonight on behalf of the Chamber’s board of directors and membership.

For nearly 10 years the development known as the Round has fallen short of its potential in terms of tenancy, value, new investment, and redevelopment stimulus. Westgate and the properties around it have not developed as expected and the Central District has not materially-improved over the past decade.
